U.S. 22 transitions from Walnut Street to Jonestown Road as it leaves the Interstate 83 & U.S. 322 interchange. Interstate 83 ends one mile to the north at junction Interstate 81 (Exit 51). There U.S. 322 westbound merges with Interstate 81 south to north Harrisburg. Interstate 81 northbound leaves the Harrisburg area en route to junction Interstate 78 and Hazelton.
