The freeway ends at Ocean Parkway, a six-lane surface arterial, and New York 27 turns east onto Caton Avenue. Further east in Brooklyn and Queens, New York 27 follows the surface street routing of Linden Boulevard through Flatbush, Brownsville, East New York and Springville to Conduit Avenue. Conduit Avenue comprises the route from Linden Boulevard east to the Belt Parkway frontage road system through Howard Beach, South Ozone Park, Locust Manor, and Laurelton. New York 27 leaves the Belt Parkway right of way via Sunset Boulevard to Valley Stream in Nassau County. Eastbound at the turn onto Conduit Avenue east from Linden Avenue on New York 27. Conduit Avenue was intended to serve as a frontage street network for the Bushwick Expressway from the Belt Parkway northwest to Atlantic Avenue. New York 27 westbound The interchange between Belt Parkway and Interstate 678 (Van Wyck Expressway) entails the parallel New York 27 (Conduit Avenue) for some of the movements between the two limited-access highways. Conduit Avenue composes the Belt Parkway frontage road system from Sunrise Highway (Exit 23) west to the Nassau Expressway (New York 878) merge and Exit 17. New York 27 follows Conduit Avenue west from Sunrise Highway to Linden Boulevard at Ozone Park. Travelers bound for the Van Wyck Expressway southbound from the Belt Parkway westbound must use Conduit Avenue west to its loop ramp onto Interstate 678. A direct ramp onto Interstate 678 north exists from Belt Parkway westbound in conjunction with the Interstate 878 (Nassau Expressway) westbound ending. Photo taken 08/29/05. Motorists bound for the Belt Parkway westbound from both directions of Interstate 678 utilize New York 27 (Conduit Avenue) westbound. A slip ramp merges onto the six-lane parkway after the Conduit Avenue signalized intersection with 134th Place. Conduit Avenue carries traffic onto the state route from Cross Bay Boulevard to the right. A graffiti covered guide sign advises motorists of the upcoming split with Linden Boulevard. The grassy median represents the unconstructed mainline of Interstate 78 (Bushwick Expressway). Interstate 78 was to continue northwest from the Nassau Expressway via the Bushwick Expressway to the Williamsburg Bridge. New York 27 departs Conduit Avenue for Linden Boulevard westbound to the Spring Creek and East New York neighborhoods of Queens. Conduit Avenue continues another 1.5 miles northwest to its merge with Atlantic Avenue. Unconstructed Interstate 78 also follows Conduit Avenue to Atlantic Avenue.
