Exit 2 comprises a folded-diamond interchange between Massachusetts 24 and Brayton Avenue just south of Interstate 195. Brayton Avenue travels west from Eastern Avenue and Martine Street (U.S. 6) to Stafford Road in south Falls River. Massachusetts 24 becomes Rhode Island 24 at the Fall River and Tiverton, R.I. line. The freeway turns southwest toward its diamond interchange (Exit 6) with Fish Road. Rhode Island 77 south meets Rhode Island 177 (Bulgarmarsh Road) in 2.5 miles; Rhode Island 177 east leads to Westport, Massachusetts. Continuing west, Rhode Island 24 & 138 next meet Anthony Road at the Town of Portsmouth. Anthony Road parallels the freeway along the southbound side between Common Fence Point and Boyds Lane (Exit 2). Common Fence Point represents the peninsula north into Mount Hope Bay.
