After Interstate 95 relocates onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Bristol, Pennsylvania, Interstate 295 sees extension southward along the Interstate 95 from Bakersville southwest to Bristol. Control cities include Bordentown where Interstate 295 meets Interstate 195 & New Jersey 29 and the southern terminus at Pennsville. Photo taken 10/03/04. The first of several Interstate 95 & New Jersey Turnpike trailblazers found along Interstate 295 southbound at the Bakers Basin Road underpass. Trailblazers were installed along Interstate 295 south and Interstate 195 east in 2004 to guide motorists from the current north end of Interstate 95 and the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 7A. Klocker Avenue ties into Mercer County 535 (State Street Extension) just west of Interstate 295. There is no access onto State Street westbound from Interstate 295 southbound at Exit 64. A loop ramp joins Interstate 295 southbound with Mercer County 535 (State Street Extension) eastbound at Exit 64. Access to New Jersey 33 (Nottingham Way) westbound is provided by Exit 63 one half mile to the south. A three-quarter cloverleaf-interchange joins Interstate 295 with New Jersey 33 (Nottingham Way) and Hamilton Avenue at Mercerville. Passing underneath Kuser Road one quarter of a mile north of the South Olden Avenue off-ramp at Exit 62. Olden Avenue stems west form Mercer County 533 (White Horse Road) to Arena Drive, Liberty Street, and New Jersey 33 (Greenwood Avenue) just outside of the Trenton city limits. The eastern terminus of Interstate 195 lies just two miles to the south. Photo taken 10/03/04. Exit 62 leaves Interstate 295 southbound for Olden Avenue northbound. Olden Avenue merges with Arena Drive 0.4 miles to the west. The surface street enters Trenton and intersects U.S. 1 Business & U.S. 206 (Brunswick Avenue) in 3.3 miles. Arena Drive eastbound serves the community of White Horse between Olden Avenue and junction Interstate 195 & Mercer County 524 (Broad Street). Connections with Interstate 195 eastbound (Exits 60A) serve both U.S. 206 to Bordentown and the Interstate 95 northbound continuation on the New Jersey Turnpike. Exit 60 departs Interstate 295 southbound for both the eastbound beginning of Interstate 195 and northbound beginning of New Jersey 29. Interstate 195 meets Interstate 95 & New Jersey Turnpike six miles to the east. The freeway otherwise continues 28 miles from there to Wall Township, the Garden State Parkway, and New Jersey 34. The freeway splits with New Jersey 129 (Canal Boulevard) before descending underneath a six-lane tunnel.
