There is no direct ramp from the Garden State Parkway south to Interstate 78 east. Instead drivers must travel the freeway to Exit 50A (Vaux Hall Road south) and use the eastbound on-ramp. After passing by the northbound main line toll plaza, southbound drivers meet the Exit 141 off-ramp to Vaux Hall Road in Union. Vaux Hall Road meanders northwest to Interstate 78 and southeast to Union County 509 (Salem Road).
